Jim Chen
Director of REIT Accounting & Reporting
Jim joined Argonaut in June 2026 and oversees financial reporting, accounting, and compliance for the firm’s REIT platform, working closely with the Controller and CFO.
Prior to joining Argonaut, Jim spent nearly 18 years as Portfolio Controller at Shorenstein Realty Services L.P., a real estate private equity investor in office properties. In this role, he oversaw fund financial reporting processes including quarterly reporting to lenders, joint venture partners, and investors, designed reports for feeder fund investors, and implemented new accounting standards. He also coordinated annual audits and established accounting policies and procedures for the firm.
Earlier in his career, Jim held audit roles at EY, working with clients including Tishman Speyer Properties, JER Partners, Reckson Realty, and Morgan Stanley’s real estate funds.
Jim holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting from Keller Graduate School of Management.
